"Mercy Me" has a new song out called "Goodbye Ordinary" which was used as our camp theme at Gatlinburg recently. The chorus says,
"LIVE LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW,
LOVE EXTRAVANGANTLY,
LEAD A LIFE TO BE FOLLOWED,
GOODBYE ORDINARY".
I love this thought. It seems like we have been lulled to sleep and have become so ORDINARY in our lives. Everything is, well, just ordinary. We live each day like we have thousands more to live, we love like we we love pizza and we basically do our own thing not really caring if anyone is following or we are not concerning about which direction we are leading our friends.
In 2008 I am adopting this song as my theme song for the year. I've never really had a theme song but I'm going to use it's sentiment to help me make 2008 the best year I have ever lived. I want to LIVE, LOVE and LEAD in a way that brings incredible honor to Jesus. In 2007 I lived way too much for Phil and I really need to die to that, to ME (HE must increase, I must decrease). You'll probably hear more from me on this as it will be in my heart this year. I want to invite you to join me in this journey and let's see where God will take us.
Have I told you lately that I love you? More importantly, HE loves you.

Hey Jason. your completely right our day to day lives become boring and "ordinary" and nothing special any more. But every day with Christ is something we should cherish. I take it for granted sometimes. unfortunately. i definately want 2008 to be the best year of my life. and don't worry Jason we love you too!! ; )

Somehting I"ve noticed as well is that we are too casual when we worship or at least from what ive seen in todays youths. We sit there and talk to our friends, text on our phones, our we zone out completley.Granted we aren't going to be perfect but if we are to LIVE for Christ our worship should be sincere, We won't show any LOVE for Christ if we don't, and we can't LEAD our friends down the right path if we are not in worship 100%.
